Our Freiburg Story
Winni Konrad and Viktor form the core of the Weichsel Sharks Jazz Band Freiburg – though their musical journey together began far from the Black Forest: in a small, picturesque village in the Ardèche. For more than twenty years, the musicians met there every summer for a week filled with music – culinary discoveries, cold swims in the Ardèche river and countless late-night jam sessions. When Viktor returned to his hometown Freiburg in 2025, it quickly became clear: the unique spirit of the Berlin Weichsel Sharks had to come south as well. This was the beginning of the Weichsel Sharks Jazz Band Freiburg – a jazz trio of professional musicians with international experience deeply rooted in the regional scene. Passion, joy and musical quality blend into a distinctive sound.
